Welcome to the Tallassee City School System website.  As you explore the many areas of our website, it will become obvious as to why our city school system is among the best in our region. We are the only City School system in the area around Montgomery.  All of our schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. We currently have an enrollment of over 1900 students with more than 250 employees supporting our students. 

       Our school system was one of the original 16 schools involved in the Alabama Reading Initiative. Our school system was selected as a K-12 training site for TEAM-Math.  Tallassee Teachers are trainers for the TEAM Math Program for other school systems.  Meeting the No Child Left Behind requirements, all of our teachers are Highly Qualified that are returning for the 2006-2007 school year.  We are pleased with the progress that we have made to meet all of our Adequate Yearly Progress goals under No Child Left Behind.

       The Tallassee High School 2005-2006 graduating class received scholarships totaling just over $1,000,000.00. 99% of this class passed the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. Tallassee High School has established a program during the school day to assist students in meeting all of the requirements for graduation.

       In the past ten years we have upgraded the facilities at Tallassee High School and Southside Middle School. The Tallassee City Schools Capital Plan includes plans for the system as well as upgrades for the Fine Arts department at THS and athletic facilities and an additional school.
