Softball keeps on winning!

The Tallassee softball team just keeps on winning. The Tigers went 6-0 in the Wetumpka Tournament on Friday and Saturday and improved to 13-1. Their current win streak is 13 games.

The win streak is the longest under fourth year coach Pat Love. The Tigers had an 11-game streak last season.

Two of Tallassee's wins on Saturday came against defending state champions; Hayden (5A) and Alabama Christian (4A).

The Tigers opened the tournament on Friday with an 11-3 win over Horseshoe Bend. On Saturday, they beat ACA 13-1, Brewbaker Tech 5-1, Saraland 8-2, Hazel Green 2-1 and Hayden for the championship 3-2.

Jordan Walters was dominant in the circle with four wins and a microscopic .568 earned run average allowing only one earned run with 15 strikeouts. She also had five hits at the plate including a grand slam.

Sinclair Cole pitched 10 innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Belle Haynes had seven hits in the tournament. Anslee Osborne and Chloe Davidson had five hits each. Ella Thrash had four hits.

Tallassee opens area play vs. Beauregard on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 at Southside.
