Purple Ambassadors
At Tuesday’s Tallassee City Schools Board of Education meeting, Tallassee Elementary School’s Purple Ambassadors were recognized for their dedication and commitment to academic excellence. Sponsor Donna Cunningham shared what it means to serve as a Purple Ambassador and highlighted the hard work these students demonstrate. We are incredibly proud of this outstanding group and look forward to all they will accomplish in the future!

The Purple Ambassadors is the 4th Grade Honor Society at Tallassee Elementary School. The students are chosen based on certain criteria that involves working hard academically and maintaining good behavior. Being a Purple Ambassador is a goal that many students have had since entering TES. Purple Ambassadors are inducted at the end of the first grading period each year. A record number of 50 students were inducted this school year!

The criteria to become a Purple Ambassador is
1. Maintain an A average in ELA, Math, Science and History.
2. Maintain an A in PE and conduct.
3. Receive no office or bus referrals for conduct violations.

While Purple Ambassadors focus on academics and behavior, students are also working on skills to become productive citizens though service. PAs are seen in our school being of service in ways such as hall monitors, peer readers, office helpers and cafeteria assistants. In addition to these assigned duties, PAs are required to complete at least 4 hours of volunteer service throughout the year. This gives the PA’s an opportunity to serve in real life situations.

It is our goal that being a member of Purple Ambassadors will encourage these
students to continue to grow academically as well as in service to their
community.
