Tallassee City Schools is proud to share an outstanding accomplishment! Through the diligence and commitment of Tallassee Elementary School’s teachers and leaders, our district has been named a 2026 Science of Reading Gold Certified District by the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI).
This prestigious recognition is awarded to districts achieving a 92% or higher completion rate among teachers and leaders enrolled in all three LETRS® courses: LETRS® for Educators, LETRS® for Administrators, and LETRS® for Early Childhood. Tallassee City Schools is one of only three districts in the state of Alabama to receive this recognition for 2026!
We are incredibly proud of Ms. Beacher, Mr. Browning, and Mrs. Pescia for their leadership and continued support of our educators throughout the LETRS training process. Most importantly, we celebrate the dedication of our Tallassee Elementary School teachers, who invested significant time and effort in this professional learning to strengthen literacy instruction for our students.
This recognition speaks volumes about the commitment of our educators to the Science of Reading and, ultimately, to developing the next generation of strong, confident readers.
Congratulations to Tallassee Elementary School and Tallassee City Schools on this exceptional statewide recognition!
