The Tallassee Tigers take on Calhoun today in a home match up. Please be advised this is a pre-sale event. No tickets are available.
1300 WTLS/106.5 FM will be broadcasting the THS/Calhoun basketball game beginning at 7 p.m. Live video will be available through Tiger Nation and Tallassee Times TV on YouTube.

Soccer tryouts will be held this Wednesday (Jan. 13th) at 4:30pm (J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium).
Students grades 7-12 who have a current physical are eligible to tryout. Soccer is a Co-Ed sport in TCS.

Due to the continued spread of Covid-19 in our community, TCS will be reducing the number of spectators at our sporting events. We will continue to use the Go Fan link process, posted on the THS/SMS/TCS websites and social media. The ticket numbers below reflect these changes.
New ticket numbers:
Basketball - 120 total tickets, 90 for Tallassee, 30 for visitors.
Wrestling - 60 total tickets, 45 for Tallassee, 15 for visitors.

The goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible while allowing our student-athletes the opportunity to participate in their sport.
SMS will be limiting its tickets also.

Parents, with a rise in Covid-19 cases in our community, TCS will excuse any student who chooses not to attend in-person through Friday. Please email your child’s teacher and let them know if he/she will not be attending in-person. Your school’s administration/teachers will be in contact regarding virtual assignments. SMS and TES will remain open for those that want to attend in-person through Friday. Dec. 21-22 will be virtual for all students.

New update from the Alabama Dept of Public Health.
While the ideal length of quarantine continues to be 14 days after last exposure, If 14 days of quarantine is not practical, 10 days is acceptable.
This means if you are without symptoms you can return to normal activity on day 11 only if you continue to Closely Monitor for symptoms. If you have symptoms, isolate and seek medical attention

Curbside meals will be available for pick up each school day for THS students enrolled in FACE -TO -FACE instruction only. Pick-up is front of the annex. 1:00pm-1:30pm Dec. 11th-21st.

The SMS basketball game for tomorrow 11/17 has been rescheduled for 12/8.
Also the SMS basketball game at Trinity on 12/17 will be rescheduled as well.

Due to COVID restrictions, tickets to THS basketball events will be limited. Purchase a season ticket to ensure you have a seat.

Season passes for basketball home games will be sold in the THS main office starting Monday, November 16 during normal school hours. Season passes will be $80 and are good for admission to all 11 home games. No refunds will be given if games are cancelled.

THS Cheerleaders competed and WON in their region today. They now will move on to state competition on Dec. 12th! Congrats Ladies and Coaches!

Power has been restored to all TCS campuses. SMS was partially down for awhile. Our CNP staff did great in shifting gears to get our students fed. We did have to provide the students with an alternate meal due to cooking equipment being w/o power, but they worked it out! Thanks to Alabama Power's Dadeville Crew and Tallassee's own Wendy McCraney, AL Power Engineer, for working hard to get us back online! Great job teachers and students in powering through and being flexible!

We are experiencing a power outage at SMS and THS. AL Power is working to restore power. They have an expectation of power being on soon.

Congratulations to Mr. Chet Stewart our new THS Principal and to Mr. Tim Collier our new principal at Southside.

Tallassee High School has set a new graduation date for 8:00 pm on May 29, 2020 at Hot O’Brien Stadium. The ceremony will be limited to six family or friends of each graduate.

Parents,
Teachers at Southside Middle School and Tallassee High School will be contacting students regarding instructional material delivery. Online methods as well as print versions will be utilized. Tallassee Elementary School will provide hardcopy packets for each student. Please view the information below for curriculum packet date(s) and times.

We will receive guidance from Dr. Mackey and the ALSDE on Friday and next Monday. At that time we will finalize our plans for finishing out our school year. Please take recommendations for social distancing and handwashing seriously. We will overcome these circumstances!

Governor Ivey has extended the closure of Alabama Schools through the end of the school year. Tallassee City Schools has been working on plans to continue our academic year through alternative means, such as online, virtual learning and student curriculum packets.

This is what we’re sending out about serving meals.
Tallassee City Schools CNP Director, Mrs. Loria Hunter has applied for and has been approved by the Alabama Department of Education to serve meals through our school nutrition program during the times our schools are closed.
Meals will be served to all children 18 years old and under from 11:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In order to adhere to health guidelines of social distancing, meals will not be consumed on site. Children will pick meals and take them home.
The following sites have been approved to begin operating the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) effective Monday, March 30 and continue throughout the time our schools are closed:

Tallassee City Schools System's monthly Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight (March 17th) has been postponed.

Parents, As always thank you for your continued support of Tallassee City Schools. During the school closure, teachers may provide suggested online assignments. While this is an opportunity for students to practice previously taught skills, completion of assignments is not required and will not count against students. You are encouraged to continue the practice of reading to and or with your child daily.

Governor Ivey has announced that all schools will be closed at the end of school on Wednesday, March 18.

An update related to the coronavirus: we have postponed, rescheduled, and canceled many activities. However, not all activities. We are following guidance from the ALSDE. We met at the Elmore County EMA today and heard about our county’s preparations. Our administration will meet over the weekend in case other decisions need to be made. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide further updates as needed.

Congratulations to two time attendance incentive award winner Tallassee Elementary School!

Tallassee City Schools annual flu vaccine clinic will be Monday October 29th. Forms have been sent home with students. The student must have a completed form returned to the school nurse in order to participate in the clinic. The flu vaccine clinic is offered at no cost.

All after school activities are cancelled today Wednesday, October 10, 2018 as a precaution because of the weather.
