A Message from Mr. Wade Shipman

Superintendent of Schools

Welcome to Tallassee City School's website. Our community and school system is split by the Tallapoosa River and is divided between Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties. Our community has a rich heritage and our three schools are links to this heritage and our future.

Tallassee Elementary School (TES) has 680 students in PK-4 grades. We are fortunate to be able to offer three pre-kindergarten classes to give our students an early start to their school years. TES also offers art and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) opportunities for all students.

Southside Middle School (SMS) has approximately 555 students in grades 5-8. Principal Cook is a veteran administrator with over 10 years of experience leading a school. SMS students are able to engage in middle school sports and band. Students use iPads in their classes as part of the districts 1:1 technology initiative. All SMS students are scheduled for digital learning and are looking forward to the expansion of the STEM program at SMS during the 2019-20 school year.

Tallassee High School (THS) is full of activity. THS has 542 students and offers them a full assortment of sports, music, band, and robotics. In recent years, a Career Center has been added to our system to allow for more dual enrollment opportunities for our students without excessive travel. THS students are also offered an assortment of Advanced Placement classes. Great things are happening at Tallassee High School.

Again, welcome to our website and please feel free to contact us with your questions. GO TIGERS!
