The Southside Middle School football team defeated Pike Road Middle School 30-16 on Monday night in the season opener for the SMS Tigers. Lil’ Josh Griffith had a huge night rushing for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns from the quarterback position. Joseph hooks added 74 yards and a touchdown as well for the Tigers. The Tigers were led on defense by Cash Gough who had several pass break-ups, Slade Clayton who had 5 tackles and an interception at defensive end, and Land Bell at the middle linebacker position. The Tigers will travel to Holtville on Monday night (9/21/20) to face the middle school Bulldogs at 5:30.
