Tallassee City Schools recognized National School Lunch Week this week. The fun and creative campaign theme, “School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure,” emphasizes the vital role that healthy school lunches play in a student’s success both in and out of the classroom. School lunches are packed with essential nutrients, offering students with a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and milk, all while meeting federal nutrition standards that limit fat, calories, and sodium. The federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) has been fueling nearly 30 million children each day for 77 years. This school year, TCS is excited to provide all students with the convenience of a healthy school lunch--absolutely FREE!
