The THS Robotics team entered two robots into the BEST Robotics Competition in Wetumpka last Tuesday: Sojourn and Skilpaddle. Sojourn won 1st Place Robot and Judges Choice Award. Skilpaddle won 2nd Place Team Exhibit and 3rd Place Robot. Congratulations to the team and sponsor Mr. Hilbish!
Other info:
The competition was held at Wetumpka High School on 4/25/2023 featuring Wetumpka High School, Stanhope Elmore, and Tallassee High School with a total of six robots.
The mission was to ally our company with a country to provide NATO with the best, most capable battle robot to defeat a rogue robot. Our robots had to compete against other countries and their companies to see which robot is the strongest and has the ability to beat the rogue robot. NATO put together a deadly field of killer saw blades and huge hammers to put these robots through the ultimate test while they fight against each other! Each team will drive their robot on the field with against another team’s robot, using the field of blades and hammers along with our robot’s own weapons to crush the opponent and determine who’s robot is the absolute best to defeat the rogue robot.
Judged Events:
Robot Battle 1st and 3rd
Judge’s Choice Award- A combination of engineering notebooks, critical design reviews, and team displays.
Team Display- 2nd Place
