SMS welcomed our future 5th Graders & their families tonight for orientation! We enjoyed going over details about the transition to middle school, a scavenger hunt to find new spaces, & POPcorn to close out the night! SMS 5th Grade enjoyed a delightful downtown Tallassee field trip featuring the Mount Vernon Theatre, The Scoop, & a picnic lunch on the green! We are thankful for a wonderful downtown space for our students to enjoy! Thank you, 5th Grade teachers for making this possible for our students!
Wow! What a HUGE show of support for our SMS Teachers & Staff! We finished Teacher Appreciation Week with delicious chicken minis provided by First Community Bank, an AMAZING Shrimp Boil provided by SMS PTO & cooked by Mr. Coy Thomas & Mr. Joey Scarborough, Duty Free lunch provided by incredible volunteers, and a fun goody bag provided by several community sponsors! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for showing such an outpouring of love to our school! Our PTO is phenomenal!

SMS would like to send a very special thank you to Carrville Baptist Church for providing a delicious spaghetti lunch for our teachers & staff today! We also received an incredible cookie cake from Dr. Nolin & his family as well as a cake from KidsFirst! We love celebrating our staff and couldn't do it without all of this amazing support!

SMS 8th graders are preparing for the transition to high school by registering for 9th grade classes with THS Guidance Counselors, Mrs. Davis & Mrs. Jackson! We appreciate parental involvement as well as our partnership with THS as we prepare our students for high school!
